I have to admit I am surprised at the number of different band mills.

I nearly forgot to add my bandmill (or rather my blind buddy's mill) http://www.mistersawmill.com/ It is an 18 inch, 5 horse electric mill, in the shop, hooked up to a dust collector. I will see if I have pics somewhere of it. |

Kirk I was looking for info on a mighty mite my farther just bought it was in South America cutting teak (spelling?) It is a Mighty mite. He was using a thomas bandsaw mill. I hope it was OK to add them if not I apologize.

yes this is a bandsaw, you miss understood he was not in south America just the sawmill. He traded a truck for the mill and a bulldozer. found out it is a 1999 Mighty Mite Mark IVb. It has a 3cyl diesel engine 30+ hp and a 40 foot carrage. He has been using a Thomas Band saw manual feed ( push the motor and saw to cut by hand) this one you sit still and move hydraulic levers it loads the logs and spins them I believe. He called me all pumped up and excited like a 5 year old at Christmas I live 135 miles away so I have not seen it yet. Sorry to ramble but oh well.

2.75 hr drive. But I supervise the road crew up here in Jackman and we have had snow 9 days in a row so I can't leave. Yes he has had the bug since he bought the Thomas mill to cut lumber for his camp then people stop and ask him to cut some logs up now he wants a planer to put out some smooth lumber.

Yep, hes got the the bug! He will soon need an edger to increase production, Kiln to dry it and make more profit, etc, etc. |
