Sometimes warped blade?

So I have a 1966 Mobil D as you may have read already and I'm real excited to meet other of my own kind on line. So sometimes when I haven't sharpened my teeth often enough my blade will veer off track and jam. Or they're will be alot of pitch and dull teeth. The main Blade will get hot and jamed. I pull it out sometimes with a comealong if it's real wedged. When I get it back to the beginning of the track and check the Blade it pops back and forth when pulled on by hand. Once cooled it is back to normal and cuts fine with sharp teeth. Anyone experience this??

Jason, when was the last time you had the main blade hammered?  If you continue to have such problems, you might want to have the blade hammered.  The bet is that you have some hot spots in the blade and it will continue to bind up for you.  You need to keep the teeth sharp or you will continue to bind and perhaps ruin the blade, beyond hammering.  Just a thought.

It's been hammered once at the factory a long time ago. I do alot of cutting and it hasn't been that big of a problem yet, as along as the teeth are sharp.

If you have any blue spots on the main blade, it might well indicate you have some warping that occured.  Give the folks a call at the factory and there will be a specialist for each issue to speak with you.  Dawn said to have you make that toll free call.

Jason, each time you wrap a saw it gets a little worse, some day you'll push it over the edge, and you'll be dead in the water, until you can get it hammered.  Keep the teeth sharp! that's the best prevention.  If you are using teeth other than the stellite ones Mobile mfg sells, you probably should be sharpening several times a day, or every hour.  The blade should sing through the wood.

Well I must be using the Sailite teeth as I only get them from Modil D.. But I thought the company made several different types of teeth. Some for cutting frozen wood, some for general purpose, some are H.S. steel, some have a harden cutting edge with soft center, etc.

Well got the blade hammered at Modil D this week, hope it works well.

I had heard that their saw man had broken his ankle? maybe he's back now, that's good, the mills always work better with a true blade, and good Sharp teeth.
