Title: Type of carb on MDS?
Post by: LeFranck on June 23, 2013, 07:53:32 PM
Hi again.
I'm back in Norway for holiday. Traveling again to DR Congo next month. I live more in Congo than in Norway now. Thats why I'm not so active here. I just hope that I can get a good enough internet connection in Bondo sooner or later.
Will try to update you on the latest news on the sawmill in Bondo.
I have updated my photo album at Flickr.com. Check it out:

My questions:

I have orded some parts for my MDS at the factory.

I have the 1835ccm engine. 2010 model.
- I'm thinking of changing the air filter. Have any of you tried a different filter than the MDS factory filter?
- What type of Solex carburetor does it have?

Good looking saw shed.  Lots nicer than sawing in the rain!

What's the story on the container?

I tried changing the filter one time and got the "heck" chewed out of me and created a possible issue.  You might well consider placing cut up womens stockings over the filter.  This cuts down on some of the dust issues for sure.  I do that whenever I can steal some used ones from the wife.

For the type of csarb. give the factory a call and speak with Jim.  He is the man to talk with on the carb sand he can chew out out well on the filter issues.
