Title: Tail of woe
Post by: bandmiller2 on February 24, 2016, 06:13:43 AM
Probably twentyfive years ago I planted two hybred chestnut trees  American-- Chinese cross supposedly blight resistant. Trees are big and produce many prickeley nut pods but no nuts. Come to find out they won't cross pollinate each other. I planted two Chinese chestnuts to pollinate but I trying to beat the grim reaper and get some chestnuts. I wish the nursery catalog had mentioned that. Be sure if you plant fruit and nut trees your smarter than I. Frank C.
