Woodcraft is having a sale on power tools this weekend and have a 6" powermatic jointer for about the same as a grizzly shipped. I have other grizzly tools and am very happy with them. ;D Anyone with knowledge about the powermatic tools please chime in. I have read they are top rated tools. They look well made but thats all I know.

Powermatic are top rate machines but I would never buy another 6" jointer.
I have a Delta and it works great but its to small! I picked up a Grizzly 8" for $300 brand new last year and I wish I would have gone with the 8" to begin with!

Were do you get a 8" for 300.00 :o

I found it on Woodnet.net! Guy had a heart attack and had to get rid of all his stuff!
-
Shame about the guy having the heart attack but good for you

I hate to say it but the guy earned it. He was about 400 lbs and was eating a bowl of ice cream and smoking a cigarette when it was picked up ::)
-
I guess he'll die happy in the end. :D

Carl, I have a 6" Powermatic that is fantastic. I also have an 8" Delta that is very good as well. If I had my druthers, I would purchase the Powermatic, if that is you limit.

X2 what Frank says. I have a 6"Powermatic as well and use it all the time for jointing cabinet face frames and panel strips. heavy duty and so far, indestructible.
