Figured I get the topic started to get Buzz's "be-hind" in gear to post some info on his 56" circle sawmill! ;D
-
Well there has got to be someone on here who has a real mill....Frank comes darn close with his....it has a proper blade and all....(ROUND)
Oh, and at least 100 hp to push it is nice too ;)
-
100 hp? If I recall you have about 2 or 3 times that running your mill dont you Buzz?
-
SO 100 HP WITH TODAYS FUELL PRICES IS THAT COST EFFECTIVE
WHEN COMPAIRED TO MY MILL 'S 20 HP & NARROW BAND WIDTH
COURSE THOSE OLD CIRCLE'S WILL SING TO YOU A SWEET SOUND THAT BANDS DONT HAVE
-
Rest assured Mike, this is now a "my saw is bigger and badder than your saw" type of discussion. :D :D

WELL THEN BUZZ YOU GOT THE BILLY BAD MILL
-
The big carrage mill I have for sale runs a 52 inch blade and the engine is 200hp. It will move the carrage up and back for a 24' log in about a minute or so.

WOW THATS A MONSTER 200HP
-
I may be wrong but I think Buzz's motor was in the 300hp range and runs a 56" blade. Not sure on the carriage size.
-
As soon as I get my old hard drive installed, I will have my picture files (maybe I need a pity party to raise money since it crashed and all) and I will post pictures of my Meadows...which is a real sawmill with a big circular blade, the way God intended sawmills to be ;D
-
Frank, 24" diameter log or 24 foot long log?
-
Hi MikeP and all....
My mill uses abouta gallon of fuel per hour more or less , the old budda engine on it is very fuel efficient, it was built around 1938 and has enough power to zip through a 24 inch log something like a foot a second....so the widder cut doesnt hurt to much unless it is really nice walnut or cherry etc. the performance is worth a littlle dust ;)
And its bigger... :)
-
Now Buzz, I was told numbers like 1 foot a second are impossible...do you have a billion board feet of experience to back that up with? :D :D :D I need a better power unit for mine.....be nice to find a big Buda on propane.
-
Four foot diameter and 24' long.
-
Well Frank I know you get some woppers out there....and I never doubt ya ...........but I wanna see the blade zipping through those 4 footers ;) :D :D
OH YEA mobile dimension....got it :D
-
Will we ever see it????
-
Give him the Business WB :D :D
Buzz, we need to see some pics of the beast in operation!
-
I been pondering on a video for ya.....have faith

AHHH some good wisdom on Gods perfect sawmill....big loud fast and covered in 3 feet of sawdust :D ;)
-
Hey Buzz, how is that video coming along?
-
I still haven't been down to the computer guy to get my hard drive back.....he may want me to pay him something like $20 or so ;D How about a fund drive? ::)
Yes Buzz....real sawmills have big blades and make a lot of noise....not like those wimpy bandmills.
-
PICTURES BUZZZZZZZZZMAN PICTURES
-
I have been making some needed repairs to my saw shed lately, I will grab a few pics of that tommorow and see if my daughter will video me running the mill ??? ???
-

-
ALL hands , "Now hear this.....video was made today at the Buzz Sawyer sawmill.......now we need Kirk to figure how to integrate it.....Kirk stopped over today, cut a few of my trees down and wanted to saw em up ::) ::)
We got old buda rumbling and sawed some walnut hickory cherry and red elm......Kirks camera takes smoking good quality video....so ....we done did it
-
Sounds great, Buzz. Now when he gets out here in June, I hope he has the same camera. If he forgets, Alice has one and perhapes we can learn from the master, on how to upload to the forum.
-
Well I have the video on my camera but for the life of me I havent been able to view it on my PC.
Sooner or later I will get this figured out and upload it.
-
OK, the video is in MOV format and it looks like I have to have a converter to get it uploaded onto You Tube. Still working on it!
-
Technology is incredible these days....the stuff I have to learn makes me stay away from "extra" items...but I do want to learn to upload videos.
-
::) I just can't buy this story anymore. I'm starting to think Smoke N Mirrors, don't mean to call anyone a liar but I am having troubles buying this story anymore. Untill I see some pictures I just aint gonna buy this story anymore. ::)
-
I will do my best to get the still photos uploaded this weekend. The video is proving to be a problem and I cant seem to figure out why it wont upload to YouTube.
WB, I understand completely! As God is my witness, Buzz does have a 56" circle mill and it does in fact cut lumber ;D
-
I thought Frank was a fictional character until Kirk took pictures....... ;D
-
In your dreams, I could be a night mare.
Jay, what pictures are you talking about?
-
Kirk posted pictures taken on your spread, unless I am dreaming. Maybe he only took pictures of what he coveted??????
-
Where are they?
-

-
Other video was fairly quick loading, with my dismal internet connection, but, this one is absolutely S L O W. You actually have TEETH on that chain???
-
Why did youleave three feet of good wood attatched to the ground? And the saw color. uuuuuuuuw!
-
Maybe Kirks just getting old ;D Its hard to bend over that much ay his age  Nice shirt ;)
-
New table top for a cup holder during cook outs!
Acutally, below that cut was nothing but rot and with very little wood to use for directional felling we cut above it where it was harder. We had to make sure it didnt come back on the house and it had to fall just to the left of the pool deck at the bottom of the hill, which it did!
-
Ok you are forgiven :)
-
;D ;D ;D
-
Gooooood sale on why.
