new load today
« on: July 13, 2008, 11:01:23 AM »
I just finished loading another charge of Douglas Fir flooring stock into the kiln. this morning.  This and the previous load are for a student I had my first year of teaching, in the school year of '68/'69.  I will have one more charg in a week.  I checked the moisture this morning with my Delmhorst and it was air dried down to 14% upon closing the doors.  I figure about 5 or 7 days.  I have another series of chargs to follow for a 2 1/2 million dollar home in the Central Oregan region.  That series of loads are again Douglas Fir Flooring material, window and door trim as well as mop board.

What a great business.  Only in America!

Buzz, what we ran is all gone and layed down in the house for which it was run.  I was just at the house yesterday to show it off to a man who is moving out here from Michigan to build a new home.  I will be making some of the same kind and size of flooring, from his Douglas Fir, for his new home.

That which I just ran is for a student I had my first year of teaching and his just picked up the first of three runs to be made.

The last of the students flooring will be out this weekend and I will run it through the Logosol.

The next runs are for a $2,500,000 home on a new gold course in Bend, Oregon.  The specks called or knot ladened Douglas Fir flooring, window and door trim as well as mop boards.  I will take a couple months to run all of that lumber for sure.  The house is about 4,500 square feet, perhaps more.  I am still out about 8 or 10 months for drying.  Only in America. ;D

If you will have a chance at the Logosol, you might make sure to get the three phase electical system unit.  They seem to have just that much more umph even with a converter.

The unit he has is single phase but I would think it could be upgraded by swapping out the motors.

I am no expert on such things as swaping motors, but I would seem that I would not be cost effective to swith the motors, unless you have a luck golden horseshoe, some place. ;D ;D ;D
