Giant Sequoia

Forgot to mention that the Giant Sequoia that is pictured with Kirk A. and his arms spread out at the butt of the tree, finally left, late this Winter.   The piece became the upper carved part (chin up) for the tallest nut cracker in the world.  The carving was a commission for someone in Roseburg, Oregon.  You will have to do some archive digging, I am sure to find the picture.

That was sure a fun day or two, Buzz and Kirk.  Thank you for the renewed memory.

I got a chance to see the New world record Nutcracker at the festival of lights back in December.

Quite the project.

Update on the nut cracker.
With its size moving it to the warehouse took scheduling a crane in to load it.
However mother nature had other plans and in the Jaw mechanism they found a fluffy nest with about a dozen owl eggs, so the nut cracker stands until the birds leave the nest. And no they were not spotted owls... They plan to plate the over the hole for the mechanism while it is in storage.
