sawing speed
« on: August 06, 2015, 06:58:32 PM »
Hi

I am trying to automate my mill with an electric drive motor. Can anyone tell me what speed range you cut?

Thanks
Arnie

0 to full speed
I engage the feed then adjust the speed to the sawing condition from 0-to-full

In the production mill the speed was full and could be backed down with a selector switch to 90%-80%-70% and 60% of full along with having a slow down button (electric brake) to adjust for slower speeds all the way down to 0.

Your going to want it from barely moving for wide cuts in hard wood to maybe 60 to 100 ft per minute for bringing the head back and edging a single board.  Steve
