Good morning guys, I started milling in the early eighties (year, not my age), built A portable circular sawmill ran it with a Cat. D-318 power unit in the winter and a steam engine in the summer. Good mill cut some fine lumber, sold it. Next mill was/is a bandmill I built, pretty much my own design, its powered with a 15hp three phase motor and used hydraulics for all functions. This bandmill is what I use most its located in a well lit building at a tree service yard with logs in abundance. Had the chance to buy a local somewhat historical circular mill for short bucks, could not resist. I call this mill a Chase D' Lane as it has parts from both. Powered with a British Ford Dagenham 6cyl diesel have a 48" and a 50" saws. Guess you could say I go both ways, band and big wheel. Retired heavy truck mechanic, crowding 70 yrs. real close. I live in Ma. which is nothing to brag about. Have a bunch of two cylinder Deeres and a modest machine shop. Looking forward to talking to you fellas. Sorry I' am not up to speed with the picture thing. Frank C.
