blade repair
« on: March 04, 2016, 10:48:21 AM »
Hi
Can 1-1/4" blades be cut and re welded?
The reason I ask is that I have an opportunity to buy 20 blades form a shut down business but they are longer than my saw uses. They would be about $30 less than retail.
I see several u tube videos showing ways to repair bands but not sure if these big band saw blades would hold up.

Sure can, IF you can find someone to do it, and, space the teeth correctly for sharpening purposes.

My local saw shop charged me $4 a blade for doing that.  What kind of blades are running that cost $30, mine are less than $15 shipped.  Steve
