Off topic to politics, but....
« on: June 21, 2017, 05:48:42 AM »
I could not resist.

Chris O'Donnell last night for a few minutes. Looked like he literally ate sh!t...or a can of rotten prunes. All he could talk about was how the White House was silent on all the foreign issues, like the drone and the close provocative fly by the Russians pulled off. He did not seem to inclined to talk elections for the 10 minutes I watched him rant and rave.

Morning Joe.....the victory by Republicans "barely" holding on to the Republican seat. Wow....and there must have been some prunes left in the can when O'Donnell was done last night. Sucking them looks like a flavor of the day at MSNBC. Maybe Ben and Jerry's can come up with a new flavor....Dem Election loss Prune.

Knowing this is an old thread, and I''m bored, at least for the next 10 min,  I had to laugh while reading this one.  With the mention of one's face and what it looked like that face was eating,,this thought comes to my mind every time I see NBC's Chuck Todd speak,  he has a very funny look while speaking and finishing what he's saying, it looks funny, like really strange,,

I don't know how you guys can stand to watch those new shows.  It's pretty much 95% bashing our president isn't it?  I tried watching the news here recently.  I couldn't stomach the fact that everything I saw was basically opinion based snippets of news and no real reporting on anything.

On a separate note - do you know of any news source that is totally unbiased for a chance at just the news and nothing but the news?  I'm hoping against hope that something like this exists.

Journalism is dead in America.  I wish it was not so but am afraid that it is.  At least true journalism is dead.
Integrity is not just doing the right thing.
Integrity is not just doing the right thing when no one is looking.
Integrity is doing the right thing when no one else will ever even know.

Gotta agree with FURU on this one. They have abused the " freedom of the press" for so long, they can publish or state anything without suffering consequences. Outright lies are very common nowadays, same as crooked lawyers saying things in court to sway the jurors, then coyly saying, statement retracted, after the damage is already done.

We need a justice system with hair on it's collective asses.  ::)

we all know the major networks are just pathetic, almost criminal if you ask me, and as to watching I cant' stand it, my wife wants to see, it and since the local stations have it we watch it, mainly NBC, they with CBS, and ABC are all the same, as for me, I just keep holding on to a thread of hope that one day, something will click and they will redeem themselves,, I'm not holding my breath,

I can't believe that even after these major news sources are proven to be false, people still watch them willingly.  Nothing like proving yourself to be a complete sucker, right?  My own mother is this way.  I guess it's easier to stick your head in the sand and pretend all is OK.  I've never been this way, but it seems lots of folks are.  Craziness ensues...

And furu - I completely agree with your assessment of journalism in America today.

Ahh, I don't think it's the proverbial head in the sand  for me as much as hopefully optimistic that somehow they will change?  Crap, it just keeps getting worse,  Christy keeps saying, "why do you keep watching when all you do is get mad?"
I just say,  just hoping for a turn around I reckon, or maybe seeing one get egg in their face,,

I seldom watch anymore, if they said something true, they probably won't even believe it themselves.

I remember when my parents and grandparents took as gospel anything Walter Cronkite said on the nightly news.

Now I believe less and less of anything. But I do think there is a chance that the next two weeks will be mind numbing.

Apparently CNN had to dismiss its own polls and retract its statements after it was proven to be completely false (their own poll!) and skewed to begin with.

Apparently President Trump used many "we" and "the people" statements compared to Obama's "my" and "I" statements.

Liberals are slobbering saying that the ideals projected by Trump hearken back to 1950s America and are disgustingly racist (apparently having a family is racist and offensive to talk about).  It's been said that liberalism is a mental disease and these turds prove it by their social media posts.

Somewhere else it was mentioned that this was the best SOTU speech in 75 years.  At least one democrat fled after resounding chants of "USA!  USA!  USA!" flooded the area.  I'm guessing the stress was too much.  After all, these types of Democrats want the US to move down to the level of the other socialist countries.

Seems to me it's quite simple.  Lazy, self centered, self indulgent gibs-me-dat sort of critters want Democrats in power.  Hard working, patriotic, family oriented people want Republicans in power.  But it seems that bi-partisan politics are in the past and that they are all working together.  Is Independent the new Republican?  Trump is actually Independent but he knew that he wouldn't get the votes if he ran this way so Republican it is.  Funny how politics change over the years.  Blacks are now overwhelmingly voting Democrat, which is the very same denomination that wanted them to be kept slaves and separate.

It's also incredible to me to think what these turds will do just to "stay in power".  Millions, billions, trillions spent on welfare and social programs.  Ugh.  It's good that it's there for the folks that truly need it but we all know that many many people (millions?) are on some sort of welfare and don't truly need it.  I've heard rumors that Trump will be implementing a work for welfare program.  If you are able, you must work at least a little for it.  If there are no jobs available it will need to be community service.  What a great idea!

Please remember that the opinionated parts of this are by a somewhat pissy hillbilly with a good heart and honesty as robust as he is fat.  :)

Being out of touch, down here in the jungle, is there ANY honest and true news stations I could access on the 'net ?

I would like to know how the independent party was banned, especially since Ross Perot got in the debates and made fools out of both other parties. Who has the authority to say independents can not have a voting column on the ballots. I believe after all this lying, thieving, sexual abuse has been uncovered, it just might be time for intelligent people to try to establish a new party, and not name it like the sissy sounding TEA PARTY .

Down here, when people want change, they block the major highways with cars, busses, motorcycles or whatever they can drag out. Most times they get what they want. Just imagine the blocking of roads in the USA that stretch miles long.

The problems of a multi-party political system were made apparent for everyone to see after the French National Elections, before Macron.

The "conservatives" and liberals literally joined hands and agreed to electing alternating candidates and mutual support to prevent the "Nationalist" party, the one that was close to the idea of leaving the European Union, was defeated, even though they had 40% of the vote....the conservative/liberal coalition candidates had support from the combined left and "pseudo" right, and beat back the French vote for taking their nation back from destruction.

The same thing has happened for 100 years or more in Great Britain, with Labour, Conservatives, Socialists, and even Communists all diving up shares of votes....the Santa Clause effect. Buy votes.

What is happening in America is a good thing....if people don't give up. Take the party back from the elites and professional politicians, and return to principled  conservative values.
