Doug
Are you running 1 1/2" x .055" on that LT40 or did you get a LT70?

Anything wrong with the LT40 or just not big enough.
Three different mills in less than three years.
Next thing you will have upgraded to that WM4000 or whatever it is called.  You just keep expanding your operation.
Congratulations.

If doug knows whats good for him he'll leave those wm4000's alone, they need help.

The 70's are or at least were a lot better mill.

It was too slow and not really beefy enough.  That claw turner sucked, not enough hp, dragback system not really up for dragging back heavy cants and ties; constantly broke the dragback arm welds, not fast enough operator controls, head up/down, etc.  It was a really good mill but I think it’s alot better suited for someone sawing retail lumber, it wasn’t quite a production machine.  If I wasn’t always in such a hurry I wouldn’t have upgraded but it was the slowest part of the whole operation.  I remember saying to myself when sawing with it many times, almost all of my problems that I have with this mill can be fixed with a 70...and so far,  I really like the 70, I think I’ve found something I’ll be able to stick with for a good while.  If I need more production the next thing would be a scragg mill.  Not planning on going that route anytime soon.  Hoping we can make enough lumber to keep up for awhile..
