MD mills status ?
« on: December 24, 2017, 08:51:12 PM »
I have sometime in the last few months heard that MD was either closed for business, or closing in the very near future.
Does anyone know what their status is.
Are they shutting down as in no more parts or anything, or just shutting down the production of the mills?

That was touched on here a little while ago and I can't remember the details.  Hopefully somebody does know...

Web Page link above has the following note:

"NOTICE: We are currently relocating and are not manufacturing at this time; however, we are supplying parts during the relocation process. "

I hope they remain open and continue building mills

Hopefully that is the case. It is not the story I had heard, but definitely a better one.

Well, at least that quote has a positive note about it...

Frank had a little better knowledge of the situation there.

The owner did shut the operation down at MD mill.  Apparently his kids kicked him out of the buildings and he removed all accumulated parts etc.  I have no addition infor at this time.  I do know he was offed from teo sources to sell.  He refused.  He wanted way too much money for what was available.

Bump
I've never owned or operated a MD, but it sure seems like someone (manufacturer or investor) would take a short at this "hole" in the market.
To have a 4 side finished board DELIVERED  back to you with each pass, no help and no handling..... wow!
What am I missing?

Not sure how active this forum still is, but as a Mobile Dimension sawmill owner I can assure everyone that Mobile Manufacturing is still there. I needed some parts this week, and they were helpful and prompt as always. Everything is over the phone and sent via FedEx, but otherwise great.

What engines are they using on new models now?

As far as activity, it's spermatic but you will find we don't play the games you might run into on similar sites.  We also do not charge people a fee to sell their property.
