Wood Mizer going to compete with the Circle mills!
« on: March 24, 2008, 11:29:36 PM »
Got word that WM is introducing a new mill that is said to be bigger and badder than the LT300 mill and the target is to go after the circle mill business.

It cuts on a 17 degree angle and is part of the Industrial line.

Stay tuned for any updates as they become available.

I like the sounds of that!.  Those are sweet for doing big slab cuts for table tops etc.

From what I understand the head assembly and deck is cocked at a 17 degree angle.  I suspect so that once a cut is made the board falls out of the way on its own.

Seems like there was another band mill that was set up like that also but I dont recall the name.

I think I saw on one of the big figured wood pages, I think it was Sam Talarico's at Talaricohardwoods.  Huge machine.  I saw another on a page I can't remember but was very interested in it.  It does a bang up job on oversize logs and made some beautiful table tops.

Stopped in at Woodmizer today and got to take a first hand look at the MONSTER bandmill they are going to bring to market.

The band wheels have to be at least 48" if not bigger.  It runs a 2" blade, 1 1/8th" tooth space and I do mean this thing is big!

They are using a monster Headrig but I dont recall the brand name of it.

The worse part....................I didnt take my camera.  Sorry guys  :(
