i sawed some ash & this red oak today

That Red Oak has some awesome stain in it.  I cut some similar in Arkansas a few years ago that had the same dark staining in it.  Ended up selling them as a bookmatched set for $5.00 bf  ;D

This is a pair of book matched red oaks from northern Arkansas.  We just dont get stuff like that around here.

If you look close you can see teh alien in teh wood.  The long rounded part is his shoulder and you can see the drooping face and eyes.
