I put a scissor jack under my toe board lifter and extended the handle.

Hmmm, I like that set up. Doesn't that arrangement cause that scissor jack to have to lean as its going up?

So they have this one at harbor freight, Might have to look into it for a better toe board set up.

https://www.harborfreight.com/2-1-2-half-ton-trailer-stabilizer-jack-96406.html

I could even crank it with my impact driver...

I have been using my impact. be careful with that. with heavy loads I noticed the threads starting to gall.

if you go to any junkyard you can pull scissor jacks out of cars all day long for almost nothing.

I agree with the junkyard...

I put one bolt at the top and one bolt at the bottom both with a locking nut. This way you can keep the bolts loose and let the jack tilt... I had not problems with any stripping. I keep them greased up. It will lift any size log with no problems and the rollers lets you shift the log one way or the other very easy. I got three of them on my mill.

K I only had problems with the threads when I was using my M18 1/2" impact on them. probably didn't help that the threads were pretty dry. once I greased them they seemed much better. It was when I was picking up the full sawmill bed so I could move stuff around.

I'm not even sure where a junkyard is around here.. but I know right where 5 Harbor Freights are! ;-)

Last time I went to a "pic & pull" junk yard, they had no inventory list and charged 2 bucks just to go look! EVERYTHING they had was so stripped of parts (they had their own crew that did nothing but strip cars) I could find nothing useful, left a bad taste in my mouth! What a racket!!

I'd prefer just to go to HF....

know anyone getting rid of a car? or an old junk car parked somewhere. They all have jacks in them up till about 2008 I think. Even the cheap rotary bottle jacks in some of them are really nice. They have a telescoping 3 section jack that goes up pretty high. That works very well to.

I still prefer the scissor jacks. I feel they are more stable.

Since I don't have any vehicles that are newer than 2006 (my used 1 ton Ram) what happened to jacks after 2008.
What do you do if you get a flat tire?
Call for road side assistance?

A button on the dash that will hydraulically lift any corner of the car/truck.

manufacturers started just putting a can of fix a flat in the spare tire compartment. saves them money and weight.

Ok so I will be stupid.  How does hydraulics lift the left rear unless it puts a "foot" down on the ground to lift up?

I don't understand how anything other than a square boxy small car could be made to lift the entire car on the remaining three points of ground contact and not be very tippy and thus unsafe to get your arms under to change the tire.

Another thing to break I suppose.  When you say hydraulic lift I presume pneumatic as I don't see a hydraulic system being economical as an add on.

Just did a quick google search and found out a lot 40% of cars don't even have spare tires anymore.  Great!!

Fix a flat I was told by a tire shop makes the tire un-repairable for patching due to the sealant goo.   Another way to sell more tires I suppose.

Just hosing you on the hydraulics thing. >:D >:D

We have a 2010 truck, and a 2014 car, both came with jacks.. Dodges of course. Not sure on the other vehicles out there, cant speak for them.

Well motor home RV's have automatic leveling jacks on all four corners.
I suppose that you could put them on a car but the complexity and the cost would be bad.

But as I said I did find confirmation that they are not putting jacks and/or spares in many new cars.
I would never buy one or if I was forced to do so, I woulds buy a spare and jack and fill the tiny worthless trunk with my spare and jack.
I would not be caught out depending upon a roadside service to show up in 5 hours to fix a flat.  Not in the areas I find myself.

I do think that you can get a spare tire and jack as an option.

I agree completely, cannot/will not have to depend on others for something like that!

PICTURES DELETED DUE TO PHOTO BUCKETS NEW POLCIES

So I need some 5/4 deck boards for my shaded bench, but first another 12 foot skid is in order so I cut the materials and got on it..

 8)  Well done.

Good idea with the tarp for sawdust.

What did you use to coat the posts on your shooting shed?

I'm still envious of your trees.

Thanks, and yes the tarp works well, I have a sawdust pile about where I was standing for that picture. When it gets too big I haul it off and spread it on my food plots. You can see it here

Here's a better pic of the posts in the sun before I planted them.. it was a bit shady there.

So definitely green, although it comes out of the bucket and goes on blue! Seconds later it starts turning green.
