That's a smile of genuine accomplishment.  It makes one feel good when one builds something from nothing.

I went to harbor freight today to buy a pin nailer. When I walked in the door they had a compressor on display with a sign on it saying try me I'm super quite. I tried it and I bought it.... Never have I ever seen a compressor so quite. Great for a in home shop. It has good reviews. I'm happy... Fortress compressor 64596

I have one mounted on my service truck with a 12.5 kohler on it, I would be hard pressed to be without it.
I had a craftsman oilless with a 40 gallon tank, worse most obnoxious POS I have ever owned. It gave up the ghost so I finally wired up a 220 outlet to use my old wayne compressor, with an 80 gallon tank. I  had forgotten how quiet it was and having 175 pounds of air makes me smile too. This thing was rarely turned off the first 30 years of it's life, you can't buy them like it anymore and every time I have had any dealings with an industrial air comp supplier in the last 10 years or so they have tried to buy it or trade me a new one for it.

45 years ago I took an old air conditioner pump off some kind of a
Dodge car and made an air compressor out of it just to pump up
tires. It been under presser from day one. Never once have I needed
to do anything to it. It doesn't even have a place to put oil in it.
About once a year I squirt some oil from an oil can in the intake.
