I am not a bow maker, but wouldn't it be a rather weak piece of wood?

It would be cool, Josh.  You might what to think about useing some as a backing and very, very thin for decoration.

Osage is probably the most poplular bow material and would work great and look great with a veneer of Birds Eye!

Yes, I know, Osage is a great bow material.  I had a friend tell me he was going send  piece to me, for one of my past students to make a bow.  I am still waiting for the wood.  Oh well, stuff happens.  We all get busy and such. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D

One of my students from many moons ago, made me a bow from some Osage that was growing in the Willamette Valley, South of me about 60 miles.

Was it osage or mulberry?  I have not heard of any Osage west of the rockies.
