Equal husky to stihl 390?
« on: August 09, 2008, 08:46:08 AM »
Hey guys,

I'm looking for an equal saw to the stihl 390 that has around 64cc and is a torque saw. It has to be cheaper than the stihl 390 but as close to it has possible. I'm looking at a husky right now. What model would be best?

Thanks in advance,

Steve

Equal power I meant ;) I feel kinda like a traitor even thinking of going to the dark side :D
We don't want to spend as much on this 3rd saw ;)
I couldn't decide if I wanted to consider a craftsman or a husky ;D ;D ;D :D :D :D

I may certainly be wrong but I never think of Craftsman as a serious tool for business use, great for home though.
Husky is used by many many loggers in this area for serious cutting.

Well, since we one the bid for a 440 at $355 we thought we had gotten a great deal, ends up the guy didn't want to sell it to us cuz' it was a low price.
So much for bashing husky in my last post.... (frank you might want to stop reading right about here)
Yesterday we just one a bid on a husky 365 with a 24" bar for $300 - it didn't look abused at all!

I have three Husky saws (359, 372XP, 385XP) and have never had a problem with them. I use husky oil mix and use it up. Letting fuel mix sit around long can be a real bad thing if you have ethonal added to the fuel, which is common at the gas stations.  I also always run the highest Octane I can.
