first log bed

here my first try at a bed it's northern white cedar that i bought machined peeled. 6" post, 4" horizontals, 3" spindals. took about 4 hours mabey a little more ( i was playing with my dads new tractor).

That is really neat, Josh.  :o  How are you going to finish the wood?  Are you going to use logs for the rails as well?

thanks guys.... ya the middle is gunna be logs also, as for finishing....i'm starting college monday so i might just try and sell it unfinished, i'm gunna start buying the german peeled, sucks they cost almost double for the machine peeled. i'm trying to shoot for productivity though....first i gotta find a good market for the stuff too.  thanks again guys....i'll put some finished pics up when it's done.

Have fun in school, Josh.  Yep, I remember, about 47 years ago, college began for me.  Now it is the college of hard knots and all that comes with it, these days.

Oh, you might consider putting up some pictures of your bed works.  You might just have a sideline income while pushing pens and chasing to and from classes. ;D

Turn pens for college sales!  One of my local helpers paid for 2+ years of school by turning pens on my lathe and then selling them to faculty and students.
