Now why did Kirk have to drop it off with you? I could have appreciated that monster far more! What a find....I will have one someday......

Now, phase converters: Since you are pretty handy, google a search for them or buy a set of instructions from a seller on eBay, and then locate the parts...pretty inexpensive to build, but, it takes a lot of juice to run 10 hp, and that planer was probably rated for 10 or 15 when it was new, and a 10 or 15 horse electric motor back then would be the equivalent of a 25 hp now. If you have a 2 cylinder 18 horse Wisconsin or a 4 cyl. 30 horse, it may be a great match.

Mike saw it when he visted a few years ago and had he not asked if I would sell it, it would still be sitting in the corn crib.

They run off of the pto and are a 90 degree gearbox.  I have a couple three of them.  Say, Kirk, do you recall where you saw them? :D

You know, MIke, I have another gear unit that might even be better and cheaper.  I will look at it this morning.  I am off with a nieghbor to assist him in purchasing a MD mill from a good friend of mine.  More on that later.
