Last few weeks
« on: October 17, 2008, 12:02:40 AM »
This last 30 days or so has been one that brings on some very tough times.  A few weeks ago, as some recall I buried a past student and a dear friend.

This last week I lost a mother of a student, who was also a good friend.  In addition I lost a friend who was also the husband of a good friend.  This man simply decided that his time was up, while shopping at the local Safeway grocery store.

Both funerals are tomorrow and lucky for me I can get from one to the other without much trouble. :o

Sorry to hear about the loss's Frank.  Is tough when freinds pass on let alone family.

Its all part of the cycle but that doesnt make it any easier.  I know with dealing with my Moms cancer issues it has forced me to take a whole different look at my priorities.  I tend to be doing a lot more to get things fixed and completed so that in the event I am gone my wife does not have any burden at all.

I hear you there, Kirk on your last paragraph.  It is called, "getting your house in order".

Sorry to hear about your (our) losses, Mr. P.
Just so that you don't think it's all roses over here; I decided to shove my left thumb into the blade on Sept 17th.
It's O.K. it could have been much worse.
I still have a thumb.
Its a tiny bit shorter than it has been.  :-\
Waiting to see if the nail will grow back.
I am now starting to use it again as the soreness resides.
We need to be very thankful for all that is, for all that we have, and for those that surround us.
 :)
Brag all you want, but never forget to thank those who took the time to teach that little snot-nose that became you!

I guess the voice of Mr. Whitley was not running through you minds eye, when that happened?  Sorry for you loss as well.  Please be careful, Harry, I do not have all kinds of time for funerals, you know.

I am glad you loss was minimual and all.  How are you doing this evening?

Thank you Mr.P for the kind words.
I am doing very well.
Tonight I removed my bandages and they slipped off with no adhesion.
Yeah!!!!
This is the first night that I go to bed with a thumb that needs no bandages.!
Thank you for reminding me about Mr. Witley.
I learned SOOO much from him.
You don't know it but he kicked my @$$ a few times when I had it coming.
I cannot begin to express my appreciation for the education I received back in the good old days.

Thank you for being the best of the best!
