The Obamanation
« on: March 17, 2009, 08:14:19 PM »
I keep thinking it can't get worse, and it does. Obama now proposes to eliminate health care and benefits for our currently serving and future military....in other words, get shot or hurt while serving our great country, you get to pay the bill when released from service. This is a simple slight of hand to bring on a new stream of income when they begin to kill off the Veterans Administration and promote socialized medicine.

The gun control laws are coming guys....now they are talking about making it illegal to sell imported ammo and all military surplus ammo, regardless of origin......

So here is a thought for you guys.....when we think of the nut job from Alabama......it is bad....think back: Columbine was in 1993......and how many have died in this spectacular fashion of "gun violence"? Maybe 300 nationwide in 15 years?

So how many have died in car wrecks? Nearly a million......how about wrecks involving alcohol? Nearly a quarter of a million (250,000).......so which is a larger problem? Legal ownership of firearms or drunk drivers?

Here is another one.  Look up Senate Bill 385 and tell me what you think will happen when that one passes.

Do you have a link for that Bill Frank?  Is it a US or state bill.  I couldnt find it.

I was in Cabelas Tuesday in Kansas City, KS and they were out of .223 ammo.  They said they would have a shipment in that night.

I stopped there on my way back the next morning (11am) and they had 1100 rounds left out of a 50,000 round shipment the night before.  I picked up the last 1100 rounds they had.  They sold 50,000 rounds of ammo in less than 12 ours.  :o

Picked up my planer in WI and the pastor I purchased it from is getting out of woodworking and getting into reloading!  He ordered an A4 and I got the impression he is preparing for some tuff times, as I am!

Locally, over 20 new gun orders that I know of this week.

I wish I would have baught stock in Remington before the election!

There is a proposal to not allow folks have their own gardens for food stuffs.  There seems to be a push to not allow them, from the big boy farms at the industrial level.  I will see if I can find my source, again.

The Obamonation seems to be pursuing a pretty hefty agenda to basically destroy our constitution.  When will it stop. Now we have Clinton stating we are to blame for Mexicos drug war :o >:(

I just wish more people would learn how to evaluate things so that they can find the truth.  Once they learn the truth they are a step ahead on making an informed decision.

I am so sick of the political party line it makes me want to puke.  Not a single econimist with any "real" qualifications believes what Obama is doing is going to solve our problems, and in fact most of them insist its only going to make it worse, yet people blindly support "him" with total disregard for his policies.

It is unconscionable what happens when the Obama administration and the new socialism takes over.

Let's take GM as an example:
According to todays WS journal, here are the 3 main constituents who have the biggest stake in GM besides, of course, the shareholders...who are getting pennies for their shares.

bondholders - they have the biggest GM IOU = $27.2 billion
union workers/ UAW = $20 billion
Fed Govt./Treasury = it is owed $16.2 billion

how will these competing interests all sacrifice?
a) evenly 1/3rd, 1/3rd, 1/3rd
b) they will all share but the deal will favor the bondholders - the folks who have injected the most money and the folks who are owed the most
c) all share but the Gov't will make the biggest sacrifice - after all, it's the economy/ depression which is causing all this havoc for GM and others....and after all...its a bail-out right?!
d) none of the above

Answer: d) according to the new socialism and the Obaminator...it's time to redistribute the wealth to those who have made lessor contributions.  Thus, take from the haves, the rich fat cat bondholders and give to the poorer union workers.
Breakdown of the deal:

1. bondholders -     95% sacrifice - they get less than $0.05 per dollar of investment
2. Union workers -  24% sacrifice - they get $0.76 per dollar of investment- lots of it paid back in GM stock
3. Feds -                13% sacrifice - they get $0.87 per dollar- lots also paid back in GM stock

If anyone tells you we're not in a socialistic society.....
if anyone tells you that Mr President isn't redistributing wealth.....
if anyone thinks that his 67% approval rating means that he's not a left leaning guy...
then, please....... share this with them  :>(

I never had any interest in politics or politicions until about two years ago. I was of the opinion they were all crooks and couldnt care less. For some reason, unknown to me i started listening and reading and paying attention. The first irony that dawned on me is the saying of "public service" which so many of them like to use to describe there endevers. I prefer to think of them as sheep herders, or mushroom farmers, we being the mushrooms. I try to think of myself as an open minded person, neither a true liberal or conservative. What is best for our country and its people is my mind set. Sadly, (our public servents) number one priority is saying and doing whatever they feel is best to get them reelected for another term on the gravy train. :( ,,,,,,,,,I have work to do, and also dont want to get my blood pressure elevated so ill continue this topic another time.                bedway

Bedway, I agree completely.  We ousted both parties during the last election as they became self serving dictators who could care less about the public.  We changed that by getting involved and encouraging others that we could make change and I am not talking the kind of change our current president is pushing.

We need term limits in all branches of government.  That would be a huge step in the right direction.

One of the problems of getting enough people together to make a change, is so many people have their own hobby horse they ride.  The present power structure is all for single issue groups.  Divide and conquer.  You ride the 2nd amendment, I'll ride the abortion issues, you take on illegal immigrants, and somebody has to take on government wasteful spending.   So many issues need addressed that no one group has any audience.  Each group gets classified as a bunch of radicals even by the other groups (And the government writes a list confirming it!)  We need a coalition to have strength.  Concentrate on what we agree on and not our differences.

A number of years ago, in Oregon, a conservative Republican, challenged the long time incumbent Republican US Senator in the primary.  I was part of that challenge.  In our county we basically took over the Republican party through the election of precinct committee persons.  They are the lowest level of elected party officials and have nothing to do with government in any way, just the party.  (You can get elected with one vote.) Fear was struck into the hearts of the state party officials such that a paid representative of the party (hit man?) was sent to our county to "tell us how it was and wasn't done." Thinly veiled threats were spoken to get us to toe the mark of the state party leadership.
My daddy told me years ago that the precinct committee people were the key to machine politics in Kansas City, Chicago, and other big cities.  Dollars to donuts BO used that system, adapated it and exported it.  ACORN was his local front.
The wife and I are going to try once more to influence Oregon politics as commitee people.  It's all one-on-one politics.  Time spent, not money, is the coin of the realm.  It's the only way I know of to inject common sense into the political system.  I'd opt for a third party if I had my druthers but then I'd be a radical and on somebodies watch list. (Oh, too late to worry about that.)

If not now, when?.  If not me, who?  If you do the same thing today that you did yesterday, tomorrow will be just like today.  Nothing will change!

Obama's socialism
« Reply #22 on: August 01, 2009, 06:30:20 PM »
Subject: Obama's socialism

If somebody is unable to understand THIS explanation,
I have serious doubts about their ability to even function in society, much less run our country!

As the late Adrian Rogers said, "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."
This Professor is a Genius
An economics professor at a local college made a statement
that he had never failed a single student before,
but had once failed an entire class.

 --------------------------------------------

That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and
that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

 --------------------------------------------
 The professor then said, "OK,
we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan".

 --------------------------------------------
All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive
the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.
--------------------------------------------

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B.
The students who studied hard were upset and
the students who studied little were happy.
 --------------------------------------------

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little
had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided
they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.
The second test average was a D!  No one was happy.
 --------------------------------------------

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F.

The scores never increased as bickering, blame, and name-calling
all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for
the benefit of anyone else.
 --------------------------------------------

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them
that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great,
the effort to succeed is great but when government
takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.
 --------------------------------------------

Could not be any simpler than that.
