I would'nt want to be lifting those slabs :o Thats why I have a skidsteer  ;D  In the pic it looks like they are sawing uphill  ???
That slab weights ca 1488 lb (675 kg).
This is Congo and where can I get a skid steer there? Its cheaper to pay a dozen workers than buying a skid steer.
The log on the picture is the last of three logs in a row. At that time we didn't have a mechanic jack to roll the log  :-\
Its what I call reality in the deep jungle of Congo.
We had to travel to Uganda buying a couple of 5 tons mechanic jacks. That's over 1000 miles one way.

Any here who wants can come. Its hard to watch but easier to work  :D

We are preparing to deliver lumber for rebuilding five hospitals in the region. And I heard that more is on its way. hehe
We only make lumber for the inner market. We do not export.
Our sawmill is the only one north for Kisangani. Check Google Earth.

Read a little on the web site.

Starting with a pit saw (pure history for us)

To a chainsaw mill.  Fun for a few boards and then it gets hard.

And now a 128 Mobile D.

You're going to love the MD.  It will really put some wood out.

I take it that what you're doing is more of a humanitarian thing than "for profit ?"  (That's a question)

Do you have a church backing you a little?

Kirk, I have a series that kinda relates to mill building in the circular section should I continue there or transfer to the new section. Frank C.
