When I lived in Arkansas, I sold "Charolei Resistant" corral lumber. I sawed 1½" thick X 6" White Oak. It was only 8'-6" long. Posts HAD to be good and solid.
Neighbor (Sheriff) rebuilt his corral 7' high, and NEVER had an ascape, even when his bull tried to climb out.
Word got around, and I sold a BUNCH of "Charolei resistant" corral boards.
