 My Great-Great Grandfather was pure-D Native American. Had a Great Uncle that joined the rebs against the North. We were from NJ. I voted as I seen fit, but, got over ridden by stupidity, as in "Ohhh, he's CUTE. " JFK, Billy Boy, etc. With people voting leaders of their country, like a Swim Suit Competition, hope is fading rapidly.

Now it looks like the Health Care bill is going to get crammed down our throats, or shoved up our back side, depending on how you look at things. 

They are not going to committie with it and instead are deal making in secret and claim the bill will be on the desk of the self proclaimed savior by the end of the month.

I suggest you pick up the phone and call your representatives.  It may not work but at least you made the call and can sleep better knowing you did something. 

I got a letter back from our Republican congressman and as of that letter he lost my vote.  No, he is not supporting the crap going on but the letter he sent did not address a single thing I asked him about in my letter to him.  It was a form letter and if thats the best they can do then they lose my vote!

 Did you see where that HR45 or so, bill, concerning firearms ownership, was slid in under the IRS or EPA bill, so no one would see it   I just can't remember all the info on all these issues, and, my Blood pressure doesn't take kindly to trying to keep reporting all this shit.

  Also saw where 40,000 NEW LAWS were implemented this new year.  It's ALL to get things so scrambled, that, anything the Politicos say, there is very little chance for citizens to catch the TRUTH or do anything about all the corruption.

HR 45 has never been taken out of comittee so to slip it in on another bill would require it to be out of comittee.  Best I can find there is not a single co-sponsor of Bobby Rush's comunist attempt to pass this.  He propses it every year and yes, he is from Illinois, the second Communist state in the United States.  Not sure if we are #1 or if Commifornia is but either way, comunism is alive and well in our polotitions.

Bobby Rush is out of Chicago and has been pushing this is whole political career for Mayor Dailey, even when he was in the state legislature.  He is lower than whale dung!

The good news today is Chris Dodd is not going to run and by his own admision, winning would be next to impossible under the current circumstances.  How ironic, destroy the country all while KNOWING the voters dont support your actions then quit!  Class act

The rounding up the troops from around the world was started by a russian reporter and that story grew legs, although not true.

Yes, he is sending 30,000 more troops to Afganastan but thats half of the 60,000 McCrystal asked for.  Whats sad, the news reports that he asked for 40,000 yet when you read his own report it reflects that he did not believe we could accomplish the mission with anything less than 40,000, thus the request for 60,000.  Some day the media will read the whole report and actually report on it.

As far as the Dems jumping ship, 5 today!  Amen, Amen, Amen...................................but there are still some Republicans that need to go!  The liberal from Main, "Snow" is her last name I think and she is the republican vote that let the bill come to the floor for debate in the first place.

  What will it take, to get the Independent party to take over the govt dealings

  By that, I mean to "one-up" both present parties of Govt. dregs.

I don't think you'll ever see a 3 party strong enough to make much difference in the USA.  It's been tried repeatedly through the years.  Even a strong x-president (Teddy Roosevelt) or a monied individual (Ross Perot) couldn't swing it.  The two party system is too ingrained and favored by law.  In Oregon as an example if your an "Independent" in the primary you have no say in candidate selection.  You can vote on issues, not on parties

The best hope I see is a gradual evolution of one or the other parties to something more sensible with legal restraints on growth.  The current requirement of vast amounts of $$$ to get elected cuts the little guy out of having any say and allows big money to buy their votes. 

In general all of our congress has sold their souls to special interest groups who reap large amounts Federal dollars for each penny spent on lobbying.  Why would The National Auto Dealers Assn donate $5000 to the re-election of an Oregon first term Rep if it didn't expect some sort of payback like a cash for Clunkers program?  Or better yet, why did they give money to both parties if they thought there was a difference. 
The health industry, doctors, hospitals, and such donated $95+ million to congress during a two year period ending December 2008.  And how many new insured are they getting for that money?

We don't even really have two parties.  The difference between Republican and Democratic parties is moot.  What we have is The Party of the Imcumbent.   

I believe the key is that Congress has all the money they want through deficit spending to pay back campaign support.  A balanced budget of some sort, written in stone with a very few exceptions is what is needed.  If Congress can't hand out favors there will be no buyers.

Remember I live and work in a border state overrun with illegals; they make more money having kids than we earn working fulltime.
Today I had a 25 yr old with 8 kids ~ that's right 8! All are illegal anchor babies, and she had the nicest nails, cell phone, hand bag, clothing. etc. She makes about $1500 monthly for each; do the math. I used to say "we are the dumbest nation on earth." Now I must say and sadly admit, YOU are the dumbest people on earth (that includes me) for we elected the idiot idealogues who have passed the bills that allow this. Sorry ~ we need a revolution! Vote em all out in 2010!

If the immigrant is over 65, they can apply for SSI and Medicaid and get more than a woman on Social Security, who worked from 1944 until 2004.
She is only getting $791 per month because she was born in 1924 and there's a 'catch 22'.
It is interesting that the federal government provides a single refugee with a monthly allowance of $1,890. Each can also obtain an additional $580 in social assistance, for a total of $2,470 a month.
This compares to a single pensioner, who after contributing to the growth and development of America for 40 to 50 years, can only receive a monthly maximum of $1,012 in old age pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Maybe our pensioners should apply as refugees!
Consider sending this to all your American friends, so we can all be ticked off and maybe get the refugees cut back to $1,012 and the pensioners up to $2,470. Then we can enjoy some of the money we were forced to submit to the Government over the last 40 or 50 or 60 years. And not to receive an increase for 2010!! Vote them all out of office!!!
