Finally Got My Turkey!
« on: April 29, 2010, 11:55:12 AM »
Blasted this Tom this morning at 6am.  He cam strutting in to a flock of decoys.  Used the Pretty Boy Tom, Hen, and two foam hens with a Jake.

He was so focused on the decoys he had no clue what hit him.  Busted him at 40 yards and he didnt flop once!

26lbs and ended up with an 18lb Dressed bird!

Yum Yum is an understatement!  I could not beileve how much meat we got off this bird.  We cut out the breast, legs and wings.  Estimated 12 meals from those!

We slow cooked the neck and carcuss yesterday and had at least a lb of meat.  My wife made Turkey and dumplings!  It was awesome to say the least.
