wood flat belt pulley?
« on: June 02, 2010, 05:22:17 AM »
I’m thinking of turning a 3 step flat belt pulley to match the one on my turret lathe
Any one have experience with this type project? What wood & why? I’m thinking 2 year old air dried white oak, laminated boards to get desired thickness.
I’m in Missouri were its humid
Idea’s of mounting bearings in center?
Ideas of attaching motor pulley?
Or should I just put wood pulley direct to motor shaft?
Any & all ideas appreciated

Is it a "Through shaft" pulley, or a Nigger head style ??
