This is a response regarding an email I sent to the head of the AZ militia. The information in red below is what lead me to contacting them as well as a VERY INTERESTING article in the W. Times. It appears things are getting very real! His response speaks volumes.

There was contact between a group of uniformed cartel mercenaries and ACM forces in the Arizona desert along our border on 13 July 2010. Two enemy KIA, no friendly casualties.
This was, however, just one of many similar contacts that our Pima County Unit has had over the last couple of years. They were conducting tactical ground operations on their own up until 22 June 2010, when they began asking for outside help due to the overwhelming enemy activity in their sector.
We will conduct Operation Defiant Sentinel this Fall on our southern border. ACM unit will be joined by other state militias, who will rotate down to the Pima Forward Operations Bases on a weekly basis between late September and at least early November.
The logistical requests that the ACM has put out are for our Pima County Unit as well as for our other units that will be deploying to the border this Fall.

ACM SUPPLIES NEEDED as of 7/6/2010
Priority 1 (need yesterday): Night Vision, Body Armor, "Quick
Clot" or other brand quick clotting agent, IV bags (Dextrose and
Saline mix has been recommended by our Chief Medic).
Priority 2 (need ASAP): camo nets, solar power systems, HAM radio
gear (handheld, portable, mobile, or base mounted), MREs or any
other field rations, water storage cans, sun block, any other
medical supplies (especially IFAK "blowout" first aid kits)
Priority 3 (soon helps): sandbags, E-Tools, Boonie Hats, gloves,
cots, tactical clothing (ACUs work best), ponchos, rucksacks, rain
suits, snake bite kits, boots, socks, foot powder, tac gear,
sleeping bags, tents, tarps, OD parachute canopies, and water
filters
FYI, our medics are recommending Dextrose/Saline mix as their first
choice but we will take any solution, any size IV bag. We can even
use the ones intended for veterinary use. These are identical to
the medical bags, they are just marked differently. Go figure.

We must keep this as organized as possible. Any one ready to assist
must contact ACM HQ to get proper security clearance and intel
reports from command. Please contact H.D at

facing we are going to be very strict on how combat information and
troop movement intel is handled. Please be patient as we are busy
as hell and struggling. We are ready for it but not all at once. We
do not have enough resources available to us at this time. Again
for any information you need please contact H.D and he will provide
you with what you need. I'm going back out in the field to resupply
my men with water and food right now and wont be back in contact
till later tonight. Remember we don't need a country in panic but a
country ready to mobilize. People need money for transport and food

Hummer now has his guys "hunkered down" until after dark, when they
will exfil the area. He has not requested additional troops at
this time.
Tell everyone to sharpen their knives, but don't start heading to
Pima County just yet. This was a small unit action, nothing more.
The ACM remains at "RIBBON" status, our second highest level of
alert. Since we only have three levels, and we have been on that
level since 22 June 2010, there is reason to be alert, but not to
be alarmed.
Mobilization for our Fall mission continues, but anyone who wants
to "mount up and head to the sound of the gunfire" ahead of that
may contact me directly and we will see what we can arrange. We
cannot offer them a place to stay other than out in the desert, and
that has its own spectacular charm right about now. ••

There's another group down there but the media has labeled them "Nazi's" but they are down there with boots on the ground regardless. They are somewhat of a joke in the Militia (one look at the pics and you will know why) but again... down there and putting boots to ground.
