Title: Gun sales way up!
Post by: joasis on November 26, 2008, 08:44:24 PM
I guess this is in response to Obama's election and the coming assault on the 2nd Amendment....gun sales are at all time highs....ammo sales up as well. My wife went to OKC today to look for a new handgun...and she said in all 3 stores she looked, the shelves were empty.

If some of you don't know, Obama has made it public he supports bans on certain ammo, guns, and increasing the FET (tax) on firearms and ammo to 85%!  :-[

If you know what he wants I can get it at dealer cost from our local FFL dealer.  Let me know what your looking for and I will get you some numbers.

I know the Bushmaster AR15 (semi auto but looks just like the M-16) was $750 cost the last time I checked in June.  Not sure what they may have gone up to since then.

There is a big gun show in OKC in a few weeks....his real desire is to have an M1 Garand....like he fired in basic training. Those are really pricey!

Springfield M1A1 in on my short list!

We used the M-16 when I was in but I had several friends in the Marines, 1 in particular that was a recon sniper and I had the chance to shoot his M1A1 several times in Alaska and fell in love with it.

I've been looking for a gun for the wife and found this:

http://www.ableammo.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=84686

It's a Mossberg .410 pump shotgun that can have up to 8  2 1/2" shells in the magizine, easy to jack a shell in, and it's american made.  Not for hunting but maybe good for gophers.

Until I started researching I didn't realize a .410 had as much clout as a .357 and this one sounds sooooo much cooler when you put a shell in the chamber.

If it was for me I'd get a 12 guage but I don't want the wife to get gun shy and afraid to use it.

Been to three stores so far and nobody has one or they can't/won't order it.

Legislation to trace ammunition is pending in several states, and many gun owners are concerned that it is just another attempt by anti-gun groups to violate citizens' Second Amendment rights

if they cant take our guns then they will take our ammunition
i wonder how this will affect reloaders like me
