Frank's fun future
« on: March 23, 2012, 10:44:53 AM »
Just got an e-mail from Tangelwood about Frank, not from Frank.

Seems he is having a challenge with his heart. He's got a leaky valve and needs a replacement.  Not emergency but needs to happen soon. On the 26th he's going in for an an angiogram to assess what needs to be done.  That, in it's self is not a simple thing.

Minimum of down for 6-8 weeks after surgery (my guess) which will be soon.

Seems he has lots of help to fill the gap of required chores but...

I will call today and offer any help I can as I am the closest one here.

I have a friend that had congenital heart problems and has had a very normal life for over thirty years with a valve replacement.  His wife loves the click-click as the valve opens and closes.

Say a little prayer please

Thank you, guys. Been out rooting around with the tractor, this morning. Getting ready fora largework party, this Snext Saturday, to cut enough wood for the kiln furnace and the house for the next ten weeks or so.  I guess I will be layed up for at least that long.  Under the knife during the first week of April.  Going to take picutres of my heart through the veins, tomorrow afternoon,to see if there are any other problems that may need fixing, while they have me cut open.

No build up ansd any foreign matter in the arteries or heart, from the pictures that were taken and the sound waves on the neck.  All other possible issues are a non concern.  Just the valve flapper needs fixing.  They may repair or replace.  I have not been told which.  Repair is kind of like a pipe clamp of sorts, from the gossip I hear.  Later.

Great to hear Frank that you just have the valve flapper issue. I know it's serious but it could be even more than that. I really hope that you are strong in both soul and body. Hoping you can get it fixed as soon as possible. The waiting doesn't really helps.

Franks goes into the hospital the 27th for surgery.  Doc told him the valve was the only problem and gave permission for him to use his big wood cutting saw.  He feels better about himself because he can cut fire wood.  Had the chance to be a layabout and gave it up.  Go figure!  It's Frank!

More students and parents showed last Saturday split two more cords.  We hasve about 8 in reserve and perhaps a couple more will do the trick, to make sure Alice does nto have to resort to trying to get more cut and split.  I have truly been honored with the past students showing up and helping.   Thank each of you for your words of encouragement prayer.  I should be good as new or better, by the end of June.

Update:

Talked with Frank two days ago when he got out of the hospital, and he's home "trying to be good."  They kept him an extra day 'cause he needed a little extra observation. (hospital, not looney ward)

Just as ornery and sarcastic as ever.  He sounded good but still not up to par.

Just talked with Frank this afternoon.  Sounded good!  Says it will be at least another 30+ days before he can get back to doing anything and with one short walk around discovered everything in the wood yard was just as he left it.

Was sitting on the porch drinking mint juleps a cool glass of water watching his trees grow.  Sounded to me like he was busy.

I have the same problem Frank does about posting pictures but it would really help if we could put "bigger" pictures pixel wise (hint, hint, Kirk).  By the time I get the pixels down the picture looks like a checker board and is not worth posting.

The ones I tried to post, recently, were manipulated exactly the same as others I have successfully posted here.

I need to get a few new photos, and see if I can get them to show up.

OK guys, working on trying to figure out the problem.  I cant load ANY photos.  They just show up as an X on the screen.  The server merged with a bigger company a couple months ago and it appears that merger may have thrown a bug at us on the photo uploads.

I am working on it so bear with me, PLEASE!  :( ;) :)

OK Harold, your pictures are uploaded!

If you click on the photo at this link:
http://www.sawmillandtimberforum.com/index.php?action=gallery;sa=myimages;u=2
It will pop up the picture you selected then while mousing over the photo right click for the menu bar to pop up and go to the bottom and click PROPERTIES.

Select the URL address that is in the box that opens after clicking properties, paste that in the thread you want, highlight it then select the IMAGE ican on the options.  It should show up in the tread after you select POST.

So far, I have tried every way that you described, and can not come up with "properties". All I get at the bottom of the drop down menu is "inspect element" ???

I have no clue what inpsect element is????????

The photos are up on the Timberrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr thread.

The photos are in my gallery and if you click on them they pop up as a larger picture than the thumbnail.  Once they pop up you should be able to right click on them to pull up the properties function at the bottom.  Not sure why it would work for you??? ???

Must be one of those CR things  :D ;)

Update from Frank:
I am doing well.  Cannot pick up more than 5 pounds.  Was just allowed to drive, a few days ago.  The cardio doctor thinks things are good, but that was 2 weeks ago.  Having trouble behaving myself.  Did unload some logs a couple days ago, for a past student.   Cannot operate the mill for at least 6 more weeks or so.  The kiln has been shut down for about 5 weeks, so far.  First time in 19 years for that to happen.  Mill and chainsaw withdrawal is very bad.  Driving Alice crazy, but that has always been fun.
