Today's weather
« on: March 23, 2008, 11:46:51 AM »
I have been up since about 5:00 am and had my oatmeal, read the Sunday garbage liner/fish wrapper and mess with the puter.  I am still stalling.  I feel like I am in the midWest right now, with pouring rain.

Yesterday was absolutely marvelous, here.  Today, not so nice.  The wind is blowing at least 25 miles per hour, the rain is somewhat sideways and few Chickedees are eating from the three feeders outside my sliding glass door and I just topped each of them to the brim.

The real issue is, how wet to I want to get today?  I have to go feed the kiln furnace, cut a load of wood for the house furnace and wrap an item to be sent to Kansas, Ill.  Oh, what do I do first, or at all?

Bright and sunny here, today.  It was trying to snow, early this morning, but gave up to the sun.  Wew should have quite sunny weather this week.  We have had some rather strnge sorts of weather this last couple of weeks; snow almost every day with little of any real accumulations.   Perhaps Spring is here to stay for a while. ;D

We started the day with snow and then ice pellets.  Finally warmed up enough to rain by noon.  Tomorrow is supposed to 59 F and thunder storms.  Bring it on since we have 1.5'-4' of snow to melt before the woods work can begin.   Headed to Lake Placid for a forestry meeting tomorrow ;D.

They have us under a flood warning and I suspect tornado warnings shortly from the look of the storms heading our way :(

Not sure of the rain totals but lets just say we are surrounded with lakes this morning.  My geese are in Goose Heaven.  They are swimming everywhere and having a ball, while we are simply shut down because of the moisture.  I cant even get my forklift out of the gravel drivway its so soft.  :(

I cant even begin to imagine how soft it is in the grass.  I was Antler shed hunting yesterday at my brothers and just pulling up the grass lane to the woods got me stuck.  Something that has NEVER happen before.  It took us about an hour to get the truck out and now with all the rain from last night I wouldnt even want to walk back there.  :o :(

It sounds like you almost need snowshoes to walk around on that kind of turf.

We had spring here earlier this week!  Rode the bike 160 miles on Tuesday, rode to the woods for logging on Thursday, and took the car to the woods today due to sleet.  South and east facing slopes are bare.  North and west facing slopes still have 6" to 3 feet of snow.  We are supposed to get rain for the next 48 hours.
