I left the small one bare wood, the larger one I used Deft...worked great. Nothing like making presents instead of buyingthem...satisfaction all the way.

Very nice, Jay.  I might even be able to make something like that, if I had the plans. ;D

This is where I got the inspiration from. http://www.allchildrensfurniture.com/csn-products-l352.html?refid=SS223122

I basically searched around until I found the style I wanted, and then drew it out on cardboard....trial and error, but it worked out, and was a lot of fun. I will post some better pictures when we get moved to the new server. I also build a few cedar chests this year...I love to make presents instead of buying them.

Well Andy...I generally don't like following any blueprints or plans,..I like flexibility, and the personal touch. I bought a set of plans for a mission style grandfather's clock, and  since i don't like the dimensions, or style of the case, i will probably use the plans as a guide, and disregard everything except the clock mounting dimensions within the case.

You should see my house plans! If things go well, we start building in a few months.

I hope your house plans do not turn into a grandfather clock. ;D
