That's okay, you don't have to bother with your nice offer to find your wrench and take a picture.  I'm just talking "what if".  But I sure do appreciate the tips!  If I ever get to that type of repair I'll hafta remember that you've been there and done that.  :)

It's +2 right now with a high of +16.  I'll have to find another reason besides the cold not to mill today.   Steve

Maybe tell everyone you're busy thawing your dog out because his nuts were frozen to your porch?   ;D

I hate working outside in those temps.  Nowadays I hate it when it's below freezing.

I have heard red pepper dumped into the system will repair radiator leaks. Sealer is usually not successful to repair heater cores due to their sandwich construction and besides that it will likely plug them solid. If you have older tractors that don't have a water pump buy a can of boiler seal, it works better as its neutral buoyancy. The usual automotive sealer requires a circulation pump. Oh don't put the whole quart can of boiler seal in, just a little. Years ago I was a diesel mechanic for wonder bread. We pulled the highway tractors along the building and plugged them in. A disgruntled driver walked along the wall and punched a hole in all the radiators with a screw driver. Forman bought a case of Porter seal and the fleet of 10 was rolling in an hour or so. Later we replaced a couple of radiators the rest were fine with the sealer. Frank C.

I have always used black pepper for my trailfix radiator repairs (call it radiator stew). Just be careful with it. It is only temporary. Usually when you shut the engine off, the system pressure increases just enough to pop the pepper seal out.

Works great to get it home off the trail after the fan and radiator get frisky with each other.

I know its only been a couple of weeks, but the stuff I put in the ole dodge is working fine.  Dike. I have put highway miles and towing miles and no problem yet.  It hasn't been cold enough down here to need a heater yet, so don't know about the heater core being stopped up, but i don't think it is.   Banjo

Yikes.  None of that looks very good.

Once again, I shouldn't complain, because we're still above 0.  Next week's supposed have the bottom drop out for us too but not as bad as you.

Good man.  I think many folks that were born and raised in the south would consider 50 pretty darn cold.  My aunt and uncle live in east TX for 40 years now and are from upstate NY and now consider 50 chilly.

It is the end of January and buds are starting to form with some even breaking open.
Now I am not a fan of hot weather nor very cold but will take cold over real hot anytime.
I like 60 degrees.  Near perfect IMO.
Problem that I am seeing is that it never got cold enough for long enough this year to give a real season change and kill bugs and "harden over" the conifer buds for the next growth season.  It will be a very interesting year with the flies/gnats and other flying bugs.  I always have liked the two weeks of 20 degree weather that we normally get in December as it really helps the natural way of things in this area.  We never have the real cold that lots of you all get for months on end.

I agree with the hot /cold thing other than I'd take hot over cold... cold comes with a snowplow on my truck and not again!

Didn't you know that global warming actually causes things to cool down?  And that it's not global warming anymore - it's climate change.

More lies with ulterior motives.

What most people don't realize is that Earth is still coming out of an ice age and will naturally warm up a bit with or without human activity.

With all that being said, I do think that human activity has caused a little bit of change, but nowhere near the levels "they" want us to believe.
