looking at getting a dog.

i'm getting ready to move out of my apartment and into a house with a yard and garage! so i guess now that i got a yard i can get a dog.....i'm looking at bassett rescue's web site. i found a guy i like a lot, he's 2 years old. anyone got any experiance with them types of dogs. any advice or info on them i'd appriciate.

Find out if he is a barker or not.  Most bassets are great pets but a select few bark at anything and those are the ones people tend to dump.  Its sad for the dog but that deep belowing bark at every little thing gets old fast and even more so with neighbors. 

The make great pets and are overall a healthy bread from what little I know of them. 
Integrity is doing the right thing when no one is watching!
