Did I mention I did ALL of this construction work by myself?  Looking back on this I cant believe I actually got it done. Should have done this when my son was still home?  LOL
Yes you did and that's what makes it even more impressive.  Must be some more of that white privilege that's been going around that I've heard tell of!

The End Truss had a bow that was substantial and had to be corrected before putting up the roofing.  All the other trusses were straight and all purlins the same so understanding why this bow was there was baffling.  I did manage to get it straight with some input from Joasis!

Used a block in the center of the bow with a chain attached on both ends and a ratchet turnbuckle.

So how do you install 21 foot sheets of metal on a 4/12 roof by yourself?

I ran a wrope through the center of the truss peak and attached a C-clamp to one end, then threw that end down to the side I was installing metal on.  I would tighten the C-clamp on the top center of the sheet going up, then push the metal up with a final shove to get it past center and it would stay sometimes and others start to slide back down and I would have to do it all over again.

Once it stopped sliding back down, I went inside the structure and pulled on the other end of the rope that was hanging down in the center of the building and pulled the sheet up to the top.

Once the sheet was up as far as I could pull it with the rope I went back to the eave side and measured the distance I needed from the end of the Truss and purlins and then anchorage it.

Once the bottom had a screw it was time to go topside and make sure it was square and then screw it down from the top down to the bottom.

What may have been the most valuable purchase during this entire process?

Steel Walker II Boots!  WOW did those ever provide comfort, as in no concern of sliding off the roof?  Who knew there were roofing boots with magnets?

As far as purchases, ALL the wood in this building was cut on my mill with the exception of the trusses.

I had to purchase screws, nails, purlin hangers, truss ties, trusses, metal siding, metal roofing, door runners, and side metal supports for the doors, which I still have to build.

Considering this time in the build was prime hunting season, had to take a break.

Took another short break!

Tested Positive for the Chinese Virus.

Headache, fever, runny nose.  Dr. prescribed ivermectin.   I was already taking 5K units of D3, Quercetin, Zinc, NAC, and a few other KNOWN key supplements for this virus.

12 hrs after my first dose of ivermectin, slightly runny nose, all other symptoms gone.

24 hrs after the first dose, I was back to work every day on the building!

Tested NEGATIVE 4 days after first treatment!

Made the best of isolation by prepping the wood that was going to be needed to finish the last 30 feet of the building, which was done this year.

And YES, the barn is next for major upgrades!

Was nice to have all this pre-cut and then stored under roof for the winter of 2020.  I tarped it since it was outside for a few weeks while I got a spot cleared in the building to put it.

Totally agree!  Other countries are winning the battle with proper treatment protocols yet here in the US, for the first time in medical history, Doctors are telling people to stay home and get sicker before treatments begin.  Worst mistake ever.

I stripped the metal of the remaining north side of the old building then removed the center supports.  The first pic shows the old roof basically resting on piles of stacked wood.

I didn't get any pics of the teardown of the south side.  Did manage to get up the West ends and both north and south walls in 1 day.

Impressive amounts of hard work to do all that. Not many people out there understand or appreciate that...but I sure do.

I think the hardest part was the teardown.  That just sucked.

I only worked on the actual construction between October and December of 2020 and 2021.  I just could not make myself do this kind of work in the heat of the summer and my schedule in the spring was packed so no time then.  I wish I would have kept track of actual hours worked because the days I did work, I paced myself with a goal of getting up so many feet of wall, or so many purlins etc.  I only put in a few full 8-10 hr days on this whole project.

It was truly a labor of love.............and a realization that I had to get my wood protected as I have a fair amount of truly nice lumber that will be my go-to stuff when I get my woodshop built.  That comes hopefully this year or next.
