I'm sawing again!
« on: July 28, 2022, 09:45:45 PM »
Been away for too long, but am back with a new Norwood LM30!  I'm going to miss my old woodmizer, but so far the Norwood has impressed me with the way it cuts, and the build was not as bad as I thought it would be.  Looking forward to reading the posts, and learning more from the sawyers who use this forum.  Thanks again, should be a lot of fun to start making a pile of sawdust again....

Sounds great!  I too have been back on the saw a lot more than this year than in past.  Gives me the urge for an upgrade!  LOL

Good deal!  I haven't sawmilled a thing in 2.5 years.  Been pretty busy getting and keeping this hay farm running.  Now looking at getting into some beef cattle.....so......yeah.  Maybe this winter I might get through some cedar logs.

But no kidding....there is never enough time for just hobby stuff.

I need to get out your way for a few days of work when you doing another concrete job with the foam framing.  I forget what you call that stuff.

I've got some pine trees to drop this week.  Hoping to saw them up in 2x4's for a shop I started two years ago, and never finished.  Hate to admit it, but I'm about as organized as a crackhead, hearding wild cats. I'm old enough to retire (again) and draw social security, but can't find the time to fill out the paperwork.  Maybe this winter I'll get a break... HEHE

I am amazed at the work load we are covering. We are indeed in a recession....but the phone keeps on ringing. Now, Oklahoma typically is behind economic swings, but this is an economy like I can't guess. And being 61, nearly 62, I wonder how much more I can take...physical work with the younger guys is killing me.

Joasis,  Keep going as long as you can.  Just cut back on your hours of physical labor, if you have to.  I'm 64, and understand what your saying.  Their is a transition from "working because you have to", and working (part time), because you want to.  Inflation is crazy, so if you don't have a great retirement account, you'll need to stay in good shape , JUST TO EAT!

Retirement? What might that be?  ;D  I will be going until the big sleep I am sure. Just backing off the physical exertion.
