New burl in today
« on: June 02, 2008, 08:52:07 PM »
I just unloaded a new Maple burl a few minutes ago.  It weighed in at around 2,000 pounds.  I  will take some pictures tomorrow before I pressure wash of the dirt and bark and then some pictures after the cleaning.  I am so excited, I almost stayed at the mill to wash it tonight.  One of my past students brought it on a two axel trailer that also had a 4,000 pound bucket for a shovel on the trailer.  He had a load for that old Dodge 4 x 4.

It is huge, Josh.  I saw it again today, when I went to gather in two other smaller ones and a 36" x 10' Maple log.  The large one will have to be placed on a flatbed truck to get it here, or I might use my tripple axel trailer to haul it home, myself.

Josh, these look like diseased limbs from Jack Pine or Pondarosa Pine trees in Central Oregon.
