I have noticed a lot of content now showing several different guys milling with band mills, and a few high production circle mills.  Maybe I wasn't seeing them before?  Anyway, what I see is a lot of different techniques in milling, and how boards are cut.  Anyone else getting a new learning curve going?

I think with the ease of uploading videos now compared to years ago we are simply seeing more of what has been working for years and maybe not known to a lot of folks. That production mill is a high end that offers a finished board every cut. Those have been around for a while, just expensive!

I think what caught my attention in the video is the gang saw to the left, changing height and width, and yes, finished size each pass. Lasers are nothing new, but the applications they find for them still impress me.

I need to get back to my bandmill and cut some lumber, Christmas is coming and I have 2 cedar chests to build for granddaughters.
