In the argument against the Second Amendment many focus on mention of the Militia (i.e. the National Guard) requirement.
The Oregon State Constitution mentions two militias, The Organized Militia, and the UNorganized Militia. Within the age limits specified, all men are (required to be) part of one or the other.
I asked a US Senator once in an open meeting about a Constitutional requirement! He told me (us) that if I wanted to argue Constitutional matters go and talk with so-and-so (don't remember who), that we were so far from the Constitution it was a mote point.
Our leaders accept we aren't following the law of the land and do nothing about it. Read the gold and silver requirement and explain to me how a state can require tax payments?
Section. 10. No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.
Rosevelt got rid of gold and Nixon got rid of silver.
