To spread out.  I still have over 75 logs to haul into the yard from just south of here.

I cut down a hard maple for one of the locals in town and the logs from that tree are sitting on my trailer until I get back.  They are HUGE!  Pics to come!

And as if there are not enough free logs around, a local logging job just finished and the land owner said come get what ever I want and since the logger took "only" venerre logs out, there are plenty of quality saw logs left for the picking!

Might have to take some corn out of production and expand the log yard some ;D

If you take the corn land out of production, what about your fuel addative production.  Priorities, my son.  The government officials will be on your case to that, you know.  How about the corn lobby, they may show up on your doorstoop and demand your converion of the land is not in the "welfare" of the whole of the "people".    Then you might have the ACLU come around with a court order, to stop land conversion.

We added a 6" I-Beam under the main header for strength.  It made a huge difference and we no longer have any flex in the center of the H-Beam.

I now have a full 42.5 foot open span and no need for any posts in the center.

Other than its a HUGE rain collector its worked out awesome.  I need to put some gutters on it and drain the water to the south, which is the left side of the pics.

OUR TAX and gouge govenor is claiming that the rainwater is the property of the state and when you collect into containers, it belongs to the state.  The legislature out here is proposing that you will need  permit ($), engineer system ($) etc. for such things.  They are even working toward charging you for your well water and limiting the amount you can consume, per month.

Nice looking shed, Kirk.

How come one man's misery is another man's joy!  Sorry, I laughed about your bump and golf ball.  When you get to know me, you might understand why I married a nurse.  She's sow'd my finger tip back on, and just finished stitching one from a broken glass... "Scotch" I might add.

Nice looking shed, Kirk.

so send them a bill for labor transfering the rain water to the state owned forest/plants(that will be next as they breath state co2 air)

Kirk,

Did you design and build the trusses that you used?

If you did, could you pass along your thought process?

Thanks,

Robert

Designed and built with the help of anther sawyer, Buzz!

My thoughts?  I think I would buy them next time.   :o

It was a LOT of work as I only had help building the first couple then I was on my own. Building wasnt as bad as trying to place where they needed to be all by myself.  Now that was a chore!

Bottom chords are Pine and the top ones are Cottonwood.  2x8 on bottom and 2x10 on top.

Kirk,
When they cleared for the new cross wind runway in Paris this summer, they chiped just about 20-30 acres of trees , it was a site to behold....do you know Jimmy Wells from there?
