My Sign Post
« on: October 23, 2008, 06:59:44 PM »
:D Hi All, just wanted to post a pic or two of my new sign post. I've been shy about putting it up because,, I have a good job but I wanna work for me. So here is my sign post. Now I gotta get me a sign. I really wish I could find me a big ol circle saw blade to hang from it. Whata ya'll think. :?  I'm thinking a 52" blade would look good hanging from here. 8)

Very nice, WB.  Was beginning to wnder if you ever got the sign post completed.  Yep, a 52" saw blade would look great.  Sorry, I one I have is for the big headig.  So, no go there.  Good luck on finding a blade. I have seen some very large blade a the recycle site in Salem, Oregon.  I will take a look see the next time I am in the area of the center.

:D Well, here it is. The sign is pretty much done now. I tried to just stencile the letters on it, but that didn't work. I ended up routing the letters out and painting them in. The sign is 2'H X 4'L X 4"T. This isn't exactly what I wanted but it will do for the time being. 8)

Looks great.....I bet if you keep your eyes peeled, you will find a large blade if you decide to change the look...there were a few on eBay lately that only brought $50 or so.

Yeah I saw them too joasis, there too small though. I need at least a 52" blade to fit right. I think Im gonna use a smaller blade and inbed it in the top left corner of the sign. Hows that sound?
Thanks The WoodButcher

Cool Dan, Thanks for the kind words. I checked and your account wasn't active, so I activated it for you. Come back sometime and look around some more. Between this forum and mine and a few others, you should be able to find a way to do just about anything pertaining to the sawmill ind. Everything from loading logs to stacking lumber. Look foward to seeing you around Dan, Thanks for stoping by.
Thanks The WoodButcher

Great Post and Great Sign,  just bad connection.... if wind comes up, your sign is going to beat the crap out of your post of vice versa....   Take it from retired sign guy... chain up sign where any sway doesn't happen or hurt the sign..
