Fire Place Mantel
« on: November 18, 2008, 06:24:09 PM »
I had a customer drop off a log today that measured 10" wide and told me he wanted a 10" flat top with a 6" flat back for a fire place mantel.  ???

I bet this is the 10th person this year that wanted more wood than what they brought ::)  I tried to explain the problem but only after allowing him to tell me how to cut it, on my mill, did he realize his wishes were not possible.

I have to pull one of my maples out tomarrow and use that to get him what he wants.

And you guys live where there are big trees...you should try it here where guys think big, and nothing is that big.

BTW, I have a buyer looking at my big Meadows mill...I think I will get a WM or TK bandmill next.....
