A slabbing we will go

Well I did it.  Ordered a slabbing attachment for my Lucas.  Going to pick it up at the Oregon Logging Conference next weekend.

Bailey's had a demo unit that they discounted about 25% that I had them put my name on.  No frieght 'cause they going to be at the show anyway.
Specs are 8 1/2"  deep and 60" wide.  Don't know how to lift that big of a chunk of oak but if I get the problem I'll find a solution.

Now we are twins, Steve.  That is the size I got when I John and I built the device to attach to my MD mill.  I see they have a giant unit as well.  I would like to have one of those to operate independently.

Oh, by the way, I will have your peavy at the conference, plus some for those wanting either a 4 footer or a 5'.

Cool on the log rite.  I've already got the 6' one from you and a 5 footer wouldn't be that much handier.  Need just need something smaller
Need to talk to you too while at the conference and kick some tires and what ever around.  Is that going to cost me lunch again?

Sorry Steve, I did not make it down till Saturday.  Talked to Frank briefly; as he was busy getting his brain picked by some people bitten by the bug (desire to buy a mill).

Steve,are you going to slab  your 'lawn ornament'  ???

BTW have a fella who wants to get rid of about six Douglas-fir, he is not wanting anything $wise just to get rid of the trees. Two of them are obviously have a heart rot. Yours if you can afford the hauling. from Silverton area.

Slabbing my lawn ornament would be a real task.  the slabber only goes to 60" and that log is over that.  It goes for boards or siding.  Slabber is still in my car.  I did con Bailey's out of a file and file guide that they have to send

I'd be interested in the D.Fir, depends on the size.  Haul would cost about $160 regardless.  Are they where a self-loader can get to them?  Anywhere near half a load?  Do I need to come up and look?
