I had sent word to the editor that I expect an award for the article, perhaps a Pulitzer, a hug and a kiss, while she was at the Oregon Logging Conference.  I got only a handshake.  I reckon that was better than nothing. 

Rather interesting on day one, the number of folks coming up to me while at the breakfast, thanking me for the article and some challenging ideas.

I told Gia about our site.  She has a story about her in he same publication.  She is out of Northern Calif..  She purchased the lasrge Baker bandsaw and hauled it home with a 3/4 ton pickup.  That machine is big and heavy.  Lots of dollars as well.

I hope they can support her operation.  Word has it they have gone through 2 major rounds of layoffs. There sales are in the tank and times are tougher than ever for them.

Frank nice picture! and great article!  It's great to see Gia still sawnin' away down there.  I had the pleasure of meeting her when she picked up her mill, and going to her sawmill site a few months after she got the mill, what a wild area, huge old stumps that blow your mind.

Thank you John.  I just had a call a bit ago from Chicago, regarding the article.  Someone is interested in me supplying them with a goodly amount of vg Douglas Fir for a new house on the lake shore.
