Play Time
« on: March 22, 2009, 06:36:58 AM »
:D Hi All, We played at the mill today, funny how just about the time you get things cleaned up around the mill, you create another mess. I had it just about cleaned and a guy brought me about 30 pine & poplar logs. Ya gotta love it though, Free Grindage is always welcome   Here's a few pix from today.

First off, we knocked the dust shute off, covering all logs on deck with sawdust making it impossible to spot any tramp metal in the log by eye.

Just a random pic.

Here's my slab rack, this thing is worth it's weight in gold. I just start a fire out back, pick up the rack with the forklift and set it in the fire, works great and it allows me to use the forklift for other things than slabs to be hauled out back. Simple & Usefull, I like it. 8)

Thanks The WoodButcher

Sounds like you need a 'blower'  ;D

What do you make with poplar?

Nice looking blue handled peavy laying on the ground, in the first photo. ;)

My slab rack is made to cut the slabs and larger scrap into firewood.  You do not try to cut yours into firewood for selling?

:laugh:Howdy Frank, The blue thing your talking about is a piece of 4" channel iron. My cant hook is a logright and it's orange. I use the channel to roll logs to the mill on.   ;D
