The people were real nice though. He gave me a $100.00 tip
Thats Great! Quite different than yesterdays job I did. Nine logs and not a one over 12", most in the 8-10. Managed to get just shy of 500 bf cut in two hours.
Total bill was $197.25 - The guy pulls out 2 one hundred dollar bills and asked if I had $2.75 in change?
I did not have change. I told him all I had was a $20.00 bill.
Are you sitting down? He thens says, "well, can we call it even at $180?
I told him NO, the bill is what it is. After 10 minutes of him looking for change he gave me the 2 bills and said "I guess this will have to work".
I was shocked all things considered. He had a bad back and didnt touch a single board. I ended up doing it but since it was a small job I wasnt to concerned. I let his two kids run the mill on a few logs and they loved that but I got the impression Dad was not so happy about them touching ANYTHING. Oh, did I mention that neither kid touched a board?
I tried to get those kids involved but I think they were to interested in their text messages and computer gadgets.
I feel sorry for kids like that. Its part of the problem that has led us to where we are today.
