Chaps.....
SDB777:
It's time for me to invest in a good set of chaps....been cutting for years without, and I'm getting wiseras time passes on this here planet!
Price is an option....so.
Looked at a few online, but I'm not really sure on the sizing thing. And as luck would have it, there is not a place locally that sells them. Might be able to find something in Maine while I'm on vacation, but I haven't been up there in two years. So I'm not even sure where to look for a shop up there....
What is a good set for a decent price?
What brand do you use?
Where did you get 'em(if you remember)?
What was the price tag?

Thanks Kirk...
Been looking most at Bailey's(really nice products at a fair price-shameless plug), but I'd really like to try some on to see what I like the best. Or at least get the advise from folks that have had a set for a while to see if they like theirs.
Wish I had a store here locally to look at something? But I guess it's due to places like the above mentioned that keeps these stores from doing business...kind of a catch 22 deal! I for one would actually pay a little more to go to a store and get the product. But I imagine a lot of folks would look, get the size they need, and then order for a few dollars less online.
What are you using Kirk? Do you wear them while your milling? Or would they just be in the way?
Scott (support the local guy...once in awhile) B
Kirk Allen:
I have a pair of Husky chaps and love them and wear them ANY time I am using my chain saw.
I dont use them while milling with my sawmill, but then again its a bandmill. I would wear them if it was a chainsaw mill.
Stop over at Tractor Supply. They should carry Stihl chaps or just west of the exit on 67 north of you is a Husky dealer and they carry them.
I think if you go east at that same exit there is a Waffle House.

Got a Tractor Supply in Sherwood! Thanks would have never thought of them!!!!
Scott (let's hope they care 'em) B
