Frank, It downloads as a PDF file.  It might take some time to download but you do have to have Adoby Acrobat reader to see the file.  Most systems have it but if not its a free download at
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?promoid=BUIGO

They look like some awesome plans!  Thanks Steve

Thanks KEA,  I just spent 30 mins trying to figure out why I could see it and /Frank couldn't.
Strange thing is I tried to find it directly from OSU web site and couldn't.

I know it's there though.

Perhaps we can take a ride to the North, this Summer to view a solar kiln, similar to Burkey's near the Lakes country.  Peter Hayes has created quite a site.  I will see if I can find the website.

The website is www.Hylawoods.com

To bring a very old thread back to life.

The link to
http://owic.oregonstate.edu/pubs/dhkilns.pdf
seems to no longer be active.
Do any of you that previously got the pdf file still have it?
Thanks

Thanks for the link.  The link seems to be for a solar kiln.
The old link was for a dh kiln I think.  Based on thread title and the link pdf file name http://owic.oregonstate.edu/pubs/dhkilns.pdf.

But it is a good link with good info just the same.

Go here:  http://www.woodworkingtalk.com/

Darian has a set of "plans" for sale for a DH kiln that seem to work.  I have my first load drying right now and so far it seems to be working.  DH unit is from Lowes with a three year warranty (bought the extended).  If you join the site you get a $5 discount on the plans.
